It was a beautiful day for a wedding in the small town of Piru, CA. Yes, that is a real town about 20 minutes west of Santa Clarita, and the only real thing noteworthy in Piru is the Newhall Mansion. It is a beautiful property with a late 1800’s styled home boasting tons of incredible architectural details. I was super excited about shooting here when Corey and Angel first told me about it, both because I knew they were going to make a stunning couple and because I was sure to have plenty of rad backdrops to put them against.
Corey and Angel have a great story…Corey almost prophetically declaring he was going to marry Angel one night in a restaurant in Hollywood before the two of them had even met. Fast forward a couple years and his prediction rang true. Sitting down and meeting with them over lunch you can sense what great friends they are and an authentic romance that exists between them.
Their wedding day was so reflective of the two of them and full of fun, impromptu moments….like Angel’s twin brother, Aaron (Oh yeah, you know, the pop music star) serenading them at the piano during their cocktail reception, or Corey’s college buddies using time during their speeches to do a “Buzzfeed” version of the top 10 most embarrassing things they know about Corey! It was a very special day and I was honored to be a part of it!
